This is an outdoor Carte de Visit photo by Brady of 2nd Lt. Albert N. Fellows of Co. I, 39th Illinois Infantry. He hailed from a town called Santa Anna and mustered in on Oct. 11, 1861. On the back of the card, in Civil War period ink, is: "Killed June 2, 1864 on right line in front of Bermuda 100s Va." Fellows is mentioned in the Adj. Gen'ls Reports as being killed as soon as the battle commenced.
