William Alexander Fleming served with both the 2nd Illinois Volunteer Cavalry and the 151st Illinois Volunteer Infantry.

He was born 25 April 1835 in Morgan County, OH. He married Ellen Elizabeth Eaton on 15 August 1865 at Euharlee, Barton County, GA. William died 14 January 1892 at Carthage, Jasper County, MO and was buried 15 January 1892 at Curtis Cemetery, Carthage, Jasper County, MO.
